Metal Kitty

Chloe loves to shred with me.
Since I am on half days for language training, I get to spend more one on one time with the cats.  Rach likes to cuddle with them, but I prefer to connect on a different level.

Some wildlife right outside our door

We stumbled upon this lil guy (or gal) while walking home one night.

Just finished...

Yes, another girly read. I can't help myself, it makes the time go by quicker on the elliptical.

"Can You Keep a Secret", by Sophie Kinsella

I thought this book was adorable...I was sad it ended, but not so sad that it ended my cardio (I get too bored without a book).

Here's the plot...

Things are suddenly starting to look up for the hapless but optimistic Emma Corrigan. She has kept her job at Panther Cola for nearly a year, has the perfect boyfriend and hopes for a promotion to marketing executive should her first opportunity to strut her stuff and land a business deal be successful. Unfortunately, things don't go quite as planned, and on her unusually turbulent return flight from a disappointing client meeting, in a terrified state, she confesses her innermost secrets to the good-looking stranger sitting beside her. When she shows up at work the next morning, she is horrified to discover that her mystery man is none other than the revered and brilliant Jack Harper, American CEO of Panther Cola, on a weeklong visit to the company's U.K. branch. Thus begins a series of chaotic, emotionally exhausting and funny episodes that thrust Emma, with her workaholic best friend, Lissy, and their awful flatmate Jemima, into a world of fairy tales, secrets and deceit.

Who needs a shredder?

Not us, we've got Chloe.

This is why we don't leave out anything important =)

I especially love the look she gives me at the end. She knows shes guilty.

The Bane of my Existence

If you live in Hawaii you will know exactly what I am talking about.  Every time you go to the movies and you sit down and you are looking forward to seeing some good previews... and then the stupid consolidated theaters intro comes on!  It is, no joke, like a minute long and really loud and annoying.  They own about 75 percent of the theaters in Hawaii, so I would say the really loud, annoying advertisement for the theater is unneeded.  I HATE IT!

This is only 30 seconds of the madness that you are forced to watch EVERY TIME you want to enjoy a movie.  And I forget about it every time until that first note plays... I think that intro must play over and OVER AND OVER AGAIN in Hell.

Top 3 reasons my job is cool...

#1. During orientation when we learned about fire safety, we didn't watch some corny 80's video...
INSTEAD, I got to pour lighter fluid all over this man's lap (a retired fireman), WAIT for the flames to grow, and THEN put it out with a sheet. Wow! Hellz yes I volunteered for that!!

#2. When they are actually available in stores & my boss can get his hands on one. We're getting a Wii...so our geriatric clients can have FUN while also working on BALANCE & EXERCISING! This will also make lunch time a lot more exciting!
#3. And last but not least, the reason for this blog. TODAY, guess who comes in?!? The set director from LOST!!! He wants to borrow our rehab equipment, specifically our parallel bars, for an upcoming scene (flashback) with Loch. Kick ass!! In case you don't know, we love that show.

Nice beach read...

Jane Green's "Bookends"

A review of the plot...
A few friends meet at university: Simon, the chirpy gay character; Portia, the glamour girl; Josh, the adorable, unpretentious catch; and Cath, the overweight, insecure narrator. Portia strays from their crowd, but the other three remain friends into their 30s. Now successful Londoners, each faces a personal crisis: singleton Cath leaves a secure job to start a bookstore; Simon looks for love; Josh's marriage goes through growing pains. And then Portia, as intimidating and elegant as ever, wanders back into their lives--with surprising results. Green is a past master of the ugly-duckling-turned-swan story. Cath's transformation--neatly echoed by the changes in the lives of her friends--is completely addictive. Plot does indeed rule. --Claire Dederer

Guilty pleasure...

I hate PT

We were forced to do PT at the beach the other day. It was horrible. The sun. The sand. The waves. The beautiful scenery. And they made us play ultimate football. It is rough being in the Army. I don't care what anyone says.

This is me surveying the playing field with the eyes of a hawk about to kill a helpless field mouse.

This kind of calmness under fire can NOT be learned. It is something you are born with.

I probably cranked this bomb 60-130yds. Sixth touchdown of the quarter if I remember correctly. Just like Vince Vaughn, I was making it rain out there.
